Beyond the Present: The Future of Oklahoma’s Choice Weekly

For centuries, the written word has been the vessel by which commerce and community alike have found their voice. From the broadsides of the colonial era to the advertising circulars that fueled American main streets, print has always been more than paper and ink. It has been the marketplace made visible.

Oklahoma’s Choice Weekly was born from that tradition. When a half-century institution closed its doors, we stepped forward not in imitation of what was lost, but in declaration of what must continue: a stage for business, a platform for visibility, and a pulse that keeps local economies moving. We began in the upheaval of a global pandemic, when certainty was scarce and connection essential. Our pages, then as now, carried not just ads, but the resilience of people who refused to let their businesses or their communities fade quietly.

Today, the medium shifts again. Just as town criers gave way to newspapers, and newspapers to radio, television, and now digital platforms, we too have embraced the demands of this moment. Digital gives reach, speed, and flexibility, tools we use every week to keep advertisers seen and remembered.

And yet print is not gone. Nor will it be. It remains part of our identity, and part of our future. We know that the tactile permanence of a printed page carries weight that pixels alone cannot replicate. The day will come when ink meets paper once more, when the digital momentum we have built is joined again by the tangible presence of print. We are preparing for that return, even as we grow in digital strength.

Our mission is unchanged: to ensure that businesses are not only visible but chosen, not only present but remembered. We will use every tool of this age digital, social, and yes, print again, to amplify that mission.

The road ahead will not be mapped in detail here; vision must be protected as well as proclaimed. But this much we promise: Oklahoma’s Choice Weekly is not standing still. It is a living marketplace, grounded in history, committed to innovation, and built for endurance.

In every era, advertising has been the lifeblood of commerce. In ours, OCW stands ready to carry that tradition forward, digitally now, and in print again.
